dcterms:description
  • The peroxisome localizes multiple metabolic pathways among which are fatty acid alpha- and beta-oxidation, reactive oxygen species (ROS) detoxification, etherphospholipid biosynthesis, glyoxylate metabolism, and pipecolic acid metabolism. Deficiency of enzymes belonging to these pathways or deficiency of entire pathways are the cause of several disorders.
